I am not big into playing Tetris clones has I frequent playing Tetris on an NES but this is quite the game. The quick mode is aptly titled, it is very easy to jump in and play and is very enjoyable. The built in modes are great fun and adding online scores and online modes is genius! Great game!

mr-johnson22 responds:

Yowza, thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you liked it, and thanks for the feedback on the menus & features. :)

That song being used every year now? Great, I love it! I shall now talk about the awards.

Now onto the quiz!

The quiz was fun. I only got 20 plus the bonus right but it was fun nevertheless. Maybe I shall win something next year.

Cyberdevil responds:

Yeah, gotta stick to tradition! :) I was planning to include the throwdown track too (it's been used in older games, for mini-games etc) but it was much easier with just one track playing continually. Kinda overpowers some of the sound effects though...

Nice analysis/review! Maybe time to enforce some rules on who can be nominated for rookie huh... though since he did sign up at the end of 2012 he didn't have much of a chance at it back then. Username change... you've changed your name? I should probably know this, but wonder what your last one was?

20's not bad! With more research it shouldn't be impossible for anyone to get a perfect score either... if you want the medals that is. :P Next year!

I remember when this came out, I really wanted to play it but I never got around to it. Better late than never. The sound effects and music fit the art style very well. The mines like to blow up when I don't touch them which isn't cool. The level design is very nice and the dialogue written is written well. Good game!

Pjorg responds:

thanks man!

I love this. I just got the demo a few days back and it's amazing. This part in the demo was great. If this gets blammed then people need to get some sense and play The Stanley Parable Demo!

thinking-man responds:

Yeah.
This game makes no sense unless you play the demo.

First off you used Cthulhu and I love Cthulhu mythology! Starting us with a quick bit of action to get us hooked worked very well. I also like the style of taking over enemies and having them kill their allies. The dialogue is well written and very witty. The ambient music adds that creep factor which I really enjoy. The enemies with shields were really intense for a while. This is really addictive! Also hearing Cthulhu fhtagn! Never got old! Great Game!

Matzerath responds:

Thanks!

Great intro! Great writing! Great voice acting and sound quality! Great music! I'm not even 2 minutes in and I can't help but wanna buy this! I like how the grass gets burnt. When the hand comes in holding you if you jump at it and go outside is possible to see two crab hands holding you and then you shooting the laser. Glitch much? It's so god damn hard on the first level! The mouse will lag and then you're basically shit out of luck. I respawned and kept falling to my death due to the spawn point. I was falling so I moved towards a platform and the platform pushed me off. It pushed me off it. What the fuck? I just hope the steam version is better.

I-smel responds:

Yeah I made this in a weekend. It was about a year before we even thought about making a Steam version.

I love this even though it's a simple soundboard.

bigjonny13 responds:

Thank FNR for that, he did all the work

Up there with Newgrounds SIM as one the best SIM games in general. Also up there with Newgrounds SIM for most addiciting.

Magical-Zorse responds:

cool cool

The only thing bad about this game is I didn't make it. Great game!

JokerDenFromMR responds:

Who knows. Maybe your game could be better.

great

I though this was going to suck but then bam. I like the graphics and the little level up things that come down to add some pizazz to the game. Also the choice of no music I like because I like to listen to music when I'm on Newground durring the day so for now I don't even use audio since I watch harry potter everyday from 4 to 7 straight through for weeks so good game Sir.

TheKrimsonKrusader responds:

I know the idea seems a bit stale or tacky at first, (and maybe it is a bit :p) but I too was surprised it actually turned out pretty good. Yeah music wouldn't have added anything anyway. Thanks for the review, J-Rex!

I would tell you about me but it's classified.
